The scale stays the same: the bridge is shifted to lower bout of the body. As a result, the BR-42 has a very distinctive voice compared to the BR-43 model: a round and balanced sound, ideal for finger picking.I would see the BR-42 as a good choice for those who look for a finger picking guitar with a narrower neck. The 12th fret construction allows also an easier access to the first frets, the neck being shorter. It can also be a good choice for those finding the BR-43 a little too big. Remember!
