| DESCRIPTION: The La Patrie collection is a fine classical guitar, proof that you don't need to go to Spain for quality in sound and finish. Everything in the Collection model shows that we are dealing with a higher end model: deluxe peghead with unique black and gold pattern and ivoroid buttons, solid cedar top and solid rosewood back. The unique La Patrie Laquer finish offers a nice glossy looks but still allows the wood breathing freely and vibrate properly. But it's one thing to go with a nice loking guitar, it's another to get a good sounding one. The combination of Cedar and Rosewood (Solid back!) brings a nice warm sound to that guitar. The E string reminds me of a bass with a deep voice. As usual, wg=hat you gain in warmth with rosewood, you're loosing in projection in clarity. It's not a Flamenco guitar for sure, but it works great on classical pieces. Last thing: La Patrie models feature a trussrod. It's pretty unusual for classical guitars but can be of importance after few years of tension on the strings. Remember!
