Serial # 00208736. Top is made of Solid Sitka Spruce (natural High Gloss Finish). Back and sides are made of solid Mahogany. It doesn’t compare to any existing Gibson model and will stand out, in tone and in look, to any of the more popular models. The ladder bracing gives a very distinctive tone and will please blues and slide players, as long as they don’t mind the look.
That guitar was made in the Gibson Kalamazoo workshop, Michigan, in 1976. Only 5,000 of those were made, between 1975 and 1978, under the supervision of master luthiers Michael Kasha and Richard Schneider. It seems that the “avant guarde” design of that model was too much for Gibson and didn’t meet the expected market. At that time, Gibson certainly ceased to venture in unknown territory and decided to cash on their legacy.
She comes in a non original hardshell case.
