COLE CLARK

I learnt about Cole Clark as I was looking for guitars both offering sound qualities and taking into account environmental issues. Cole Clark is an Australian company, founded by former Maton’s factory manager Brad Clark. Environment is one of the cornerstones of the company, with heavy usage of local Bunya pinewood for soundboards. Bunya offers similr quality as Spruce, with a big advantage: Bunya trees take 30 yars to come to maturity, when spruces take 80 years. While Sitka spruce is facing growing concern with sustainable harvesting, Bunya is a controlled resource in its native Australia.
But Brad has brought more than this in his guitars. I met him at the 2010 Musik Messe and was under the feeling that it was just the beginning. You can feel quickly when you meet someone with a constant brain activity and Brad is definitely one of those creative freaks!
On top of alternative woods, Cole Clark guitars are offering a distinctive external design but also innovative structural components: carved
soundboard, FaceBrace sensor, FaceBlend pre-amps, innovative body and neck assembly. All those innovations offer a great sounding guitar, especially for plugged-in performance.
Another very cool thing with Cole Clark: their line is very simple and does not give any brain ache. Their main guitar is the Fat Lady, declined in three different models. They also offer an interesting line of Ukuleles, ideal for stage performance, as well as lapsteels.
I’ll keep in touch with Brad to check for its next invention.
