GODIN

When I started working on my guitar store, Godin was out of the picture, simply because I did not want to deal with big companies and their business only approach. So what? Did Godin reduce its size and came back to a smaller scale? No. Did I change my mind? Not much.
One of the answer is with the guitar you see on the top of this page: the Glissentar. The Glissentar is a 11-string fretless guitar. I had tried and was quite impressed by Godin’s multi-ac serie but still did not feel much working with a big company. Until I came across the Glissentar… With such a guitar, caught between western and eastern influences, I had the impression that Godin was standing aside from the common big corporation profile.
I did not go with the rest of Godin line (Seagull, La Patrie, Art and Lutherie…) They are good guitars, no doubt about it, but there are ways to find those in L.A. if you are interested. But Godin legacy is with electric guitars, which give much sense for them to lead their way in innovative new musical territories. Multi-ac are unique guitars. They are not so easy to find. They definitely deserve to give a try.
So, Godin is a big corporation, but with a daring mind.
